In this issue, we salute another outstanding scientist, Rosalyn S. Yalow, PhD, who was invited to present a State-of-the-Art Lecture at the annual Fall Scientific Sessions of the Council for High Blood Pressure Research in 1972. Five years later, in 1977, Dr Yalow was selected by the Nobel Committee for her major contributions on the development of radioimmunoassay. One sad aspect of this award was that her longtime colleague Dr Solomon A. Berson, of the VA Hospital (Bronx, New York), did not live to share this honor with her.

Dr Yalow's invited presentation at the 1972 Council meeting focused on the practices and pitfalls of radioimmunoassay. It was published in the Proceedings of the Council meeting in Circulation Research in May 1973. As we know, her contribution has become a major methodological addition to fundamental hypertension research.

Hypertension is delighted to highlight her award for this 20th anniversary celebration of our journal.
