Associate Editor, Hypertension
I wanted to take this opportunity to inform you that I will be stepping down from my responsibilities as Associate Editor of Hypertension on June 30, 2007, in order to concentrate on my new appointment as Editor-in-Chief of American Journal of Physiology: Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology. I want to thank the authors and reviewers of the journal for 5 stimulating years, and also want to thank the editorial team led by Dr John Hall, the associate and consulting editors, and the editorial staff at the University of Mississippi Medical Center for their support and friendship. I also want to thank Vickie Akers, my editorial assistant at the University of Iowa, for making the job easier. I look forward to continuing a tradition of excellence at AJP: Regulatory. I know I have a hard act to follow considering the brilliant job performed by the past 2 editors of the journal (Drs Hall and Pontus Persson) over the past dozen years. I look forward to continued interactions with all of you in this new venture.
With regards,
Editor-in-Chief, Hypertension
The editors of Hypertension express our deep appreciation to Dr Curt Sigmund for his outstanding service to the journal for the past 5 plus years. Although Curt will be stepping down from his position as Associate Editor of Hypertension, he will continue to serve on the Editorial Board providing his expertise and sage advice. We wish him all the best in this new endeavor and are grateful for his outstanding contributions to Hypertension. We are delighted to announce that Professor Jan A. Staessen has joined the Hypertension editors team. His broad expertise in hypertension research, including basic, clinical, and population science, as well as his reputation for fairness and good judgment will be great assets to the journal. Jan currently serves on the faculty of the Department of Molecular and Cardiovascular Research at the University of Leuven, Belgium, as well as Professor of Genetic Epidemiology at the University of Maastricht, The Netherlands. Jan has served as an outstanding member of the Editorial Board of Hypertension for the past 5 years. With best wishes.
Sincerely,
