In our article "Genetic Variants in the Epithelial Sodium Channel in Relation to Aldosterone and Potassium Excretion and Risk for Hypertension" (Hypertension 1999;34:631637), we reported on our studies of 5 molecular variants of the
- and ß-subunits in the epithelial sodium channel. One of the variants in the
-subunit was incorrectly identified as an alanine substitution for threonine at amino acid 663. The correct form of the variant (minor allele) is the reversea threonine substitution for alanine.
