In our article "Genetic Variants in the Epithelial Sodium Channel in Relation to Aldosterone and Potassium Excretion and Risk for Hypertension" (Hypertension 1999;34:631–637), we reported on our studies of 5 molecular variants of the - and ß-subunits in the epithelial sodium channel. One of the variants in the -subunit was incorrectly identified as an alanine substitution for threonine at amino acid 663. The correct form of the variant (minor allele) is the reverse—a threonine substitution for alanine.

In the article by Cooper et al in the November issue of this journal (Genome scan among Nigerians linking blood pressure to chromosomes 2, 3, and 19 [2002;40:629–633]), the name of coauthor Charles Rotimi was spelled incorrectly. The authors regret the error.
